Before we know it the holiday season will be here. I will be posting a series of recipes to help you start thinking of meals to cook this year. These recipes will include appetizers, main dishes, side dishes, desserts, and maybe even some cocktail recipes. I will also include helpful hints and tips for your holiday cooking and table settings.

I love cooking for the Thanksgiving holiday. My grandparents were cooks who owned a restaurant and always cooked for community events and of course for our family. My papa had a wonderful recipe for cooking a turkey – it’s unconventional but works every time making the turkey come out just right. I will be sharing that recipe too during this series. Of course every family seems to have their own turkey and dressing recipe which is a wonderful tradition to pass down to each generation.
I must admit my mother-in-law’s dressing recipe is actually my favorite and I have cooked it every Thanksgiving for the last several years. I will share that one too! I hope you will enjoy this series and actually cook some of the recipes shared and learn the helpful tips too. I would love to hear some comments on your family’s holiday recipes and traditions too.
